Configuring an email client

Posted 03rd July, 2019

In this article, you will find the correct way of setting up your email account on your personal device, whether it's a laptop/desktop or mobile. While each email client can be different in its layout, the settings that are needed are the same.

There are two types of settings and we'll now show them for you:

Non-SSL Email Settings (NOT Recommended) ->

Incoming Server: mail.example.com
Outgoing Server: mail.example.com
Username: Your full e-mail address
Password: Your e-mail account password
Incoming Port: POP3 110 or IMAP 143
Outgoing Mail server (SMTP) Port: 587
SSL: No/Off
SMTP Authentication Required
Secure Authentication or SPA needs to be turned off

SSL Email Settings (Recommended) ->

Incoming Server: mail.example.com
Outgoing Server: mail.example.com
Username: Your full e-mail address
Password: Your e-mail account password
Incoming Port: POP3 995 or IMAP 993
Outgoing Mail server (SMTP) Port: 465
SSL: Yes/On

Secure Authentication or SPA needs to be turned off

There is also a way, that you can obtain these settings throughout your cPanel account, that you have with us, and all you need to do, is to login to it first. Then, head down to the "Email Accounts" tool and after your email address, there will be a "Connect Devices"option, in which this and other useful information is displayed.

If you stumble upon any issues, please feel free to contact us and we'll be happy to help you further along with any other questions you may have.
