How to restore your database or files using JetBackup.

Posted 31st July, 2019

In this article, we will cover the steps needed for one of the two components around your website to be restored.

Starting off with the first step, what is needed is you to login to your cPanel account and click on the "JetBackup" icon, that's under the "Files" tab or if you have a dedicated "JetBackup" tab, to choose what kind of a backup you are after.

Now, you will find that there are a lot of tools available, therefore, it is down to what kind of a restore is needed from your side, e.g. are you missing an table from the database or have some content missing from the site, you can click on the respective tools, for the database, that would be "Database Backups", whereas for content, that should in most cases be the "File Backups".

If you have chosen the "File Backups", the next thing that's needed is for you to choose a date from the available ones and hit "File Manager". On the next screen, you will find your entire home folder available for restore, and yes, that mean that you can restore any of the files/all of the files available into your directory.

Once you have found the missing bit, simlpy tick the box next to it and choose from the available two options, first being "Download Selected" that will download the file/folder locally on your machine, and the second being "Restore Selected", that will restore the file/folder that you have selected directly into the home folder of the website, meaning that any missing bits will be recovered.
